Senior portrait location series

Maybury State Park, is just a couple of miles outside of Downtown Northville. It’s my go-to location in the area for a large field and lots of greenery. On the Maybury property, there is a petting zoo with a red building at the entrance and a small utility building. There are sometimes wildflowers in the field; however, if you’re looking for flower color specifically, this isn’t the location for you since it is more natural nature and green. I also like to point out that there isn’t a ton of variety at this location, so it’s something to be aware of if you’re only doing one location for your senior portraits.

As with any nature location, bring tick spray and check yourself after! Deer are moving around in the field we photograph in.

Note: Parking is easy with large lots, however, you are supposed to have a state park sticker on your license plate or pay at the entrance.

Is it the right location for your senior pictures? Check out more about it below.

  • You want a location with a field and lots of greenery.
  • You’d be more relaxed with a quieter and less busy location.
  • You’re doing two locations and would like a nature location to pair with downtown Northville.
