Senior pictures are worth the hype (and splurge)

Senior year is a lot! College Apps, Prom, All-night party, Graduation, and more. I’m biased of course, but Senior pictures can be one of the most fun parts of senior year. They are worth your time, effort, and money, and let me tell you why below!

Time to Celebrate

Graduating from high school marks a fun and special time in your life! It’s a time of big change. You’re moving from a high schooler to an adult venturing out to college or a working career. It’s a transition you’ll likely always remember. It’s worth celebrating your hard work and the person you’ve developed into!

It’s fun

A photoshoot is super fun! Think of a celebrity being photographed for a magazine article about them, but YOU are the celebrity. Your senior pictures may be the only time in your life when you get a professional photoshoot that’s all about you (I can make an argument for headshots too 😉 )! All the choices are centered around you, your personality, style, taste, hobbies, sports, etc.

Confidence Builder

For most of us, high school can be awkward at some point. In the four years, you’ve likely struggled with all the change. Whether with your looks, acne, friends, confidence, finding your style and voice, etc. With a skilled professional photographer, your senior pictures should be a good experience that boosts your confidence. A photographer is also your personal hype person, pointing out what makes you awesome. Out of the hundreds of seniors I’ve photographed, every one of them has had something beautiful and special about them that is a pleasure to capture.

Future Uses

Using your Senior pictures for certain uses is obvious: graduation cards/announcements, Grad party decorations, gifts for family, framed images, posting for social media, and an album to enjoy. But there are near-future uses that you may not have considered. Your favorite senior pictures can double as a professional headshot if you need an image to rush a sorority, for a job/internship application, LinkedIn, or a student spotlight or club. Some seniors find themselves using their images years after graduation.

Future you

I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but High school will be a distant memory soon enough. When life moves on, you’ll be so glad you have an archival way to look back to where and who you were at this special transition time of your life!
