The Law Quad & Surrounding area – Historic Elegance & city vibes

Address: 625 S State St
Best for: Seniors looking for an elegant, classic look with historical architecture and nearby modern buildings with glass, columns and more.
The Law Quad at the University of Michigan is one of Ann Arbor’s most iconic and beautiful locations, featuring stunning Gothic architecture, lush courtyards, and intricate stonework. This picturesque setting is perfect for seniors who want to incorporate a timeless, collegiate vibe into their portraits.

Downtown Ann Arbor (general)– A Vibrant City Backdrop

Best for: Seniors looking for; interesting structures, color and texture, there are plenty of options within walking distance. Downtown Ann Arbor is full of character let’s pick a spot and we’ll explore together! Tip: Avoid scheduling your session on U of M football game days and Ann Arbor art fair days as crowds and traffic can make shooting difficult.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens – A Lush Garden Setting

Address: 1800 Dixboro Rd
Best for: Seniors who love flowers, gardens, and open fields. Matthaei Botanical Gardens offers a picturesque environment with flowers, tall grasses, fields and two bridges. This location is perfect for a soft, romantic, and a natural senior portrait session. Note: The gardens and indoor conservatory require a $35 photography fee nad parking fees apply.

Nichols Arboretum – A Natural, Serene Escape

Address: 1610 Washington Hts.
Best for: Seniors who want a simple, elegant nature setting. Nichols Arboretum, or “The Arb,” is a quiet nature retreat featuring open green spaces, gardens, and water that you can get into. Since The Arb is location right downtown, taking a quick walk would also give you some city vibes. Note: Metered street parking is required nearby.

Best for: Seniors who want a blend of urban charm and historical atmosphere. Kerrytown is a historic district in Ann Arbor with a charming blend of brick buildings, unique shops, and tree-lined streets. Gallup Park – A Scenic Riverside Retreat

Island Park – A Hidden Gem with Classical Charm

This park features a Greek-inspired stone shelter, a charming bridge, and river views, making it a great option for seniors who want a unique location that blends natural and structured elements. Bonus: Free parking.

Parker Mill County Park – Rustic Charm & Scenic Trails

Address: 4650 Geddes Rd
Best for: Seniors looking for a rustic, outdoorsy setting.
This park offers an old mill building, wooden bridges, natural trails, and a river, creating a cozy, countryside feel for senior portraits. If you love rustic textures combined with nature, this is an excellent choice.
