Senior portrait location series
Downtown Ann Arbor is a fantastic location for senior pictures. There’s a wealth of color, texture, and variety. So much so that a whole session could take place within just a block. I recommend is picking a spot you like and then walking around from there.
There are so many good spots, but here are just a few of the popular spots:
Nickels Arcade – Historic covered shopping passage
Graffiti Alley – Narrow graffiti passage alley
Main Street – Walkable area with shops, restaurants, and more
Angell Hall – Greek Style Facade with columns
William L. Clements Library – White Grand Limestone building in the Italian Renaissance style
Ross Business School – Modern building, unlike other buildings in the area
Is it the right location for your senior pictures? Check out more about it below.
- You want a city vibe
- You want lots of variety
- You like exploring and are fine walking around
Important note: Since this is a city location, you want to be mindful of events like a U of M football game or the Ann Arbor art fair that could make your session and parking much more difficult! I recommend picking a different date or location if either of these events are going on.

You can check out other nature senior picture locations in Ann Arbor in my previous blog posts on Kerrytown, Gallup Park, Matthaei Botanical Gardens and The Arb.
